Starting in: Tanzania On-Route: Zanzibar Ending in: Tanzania/Nairobi Duration: 14 days Activities: Mountain Climbing, Watersports, Hiking, Cultural Tours, Historical Tours. TRIP INFO:The most adventurous, but technical, climbing skills required. This trip is booked by many - a bit more expensive but worth it for frequent climbers. The climb crossing the breath rain forest gives you an open view of the glacier when you reach the Shira Plateau situated in the middle of the moorlands. There are standard to luxurious lodges in Zanzibar. Chosen Serena Inn in Zanzibar at Stone Tone and Breezes Beach at East Cost of Zanzibar. You will enjoy and experience nature. I T I N E R A R Y Your ARRIVAL DAY -Meet at the Airport and transfer to your Hotel for your overnight, BB.or Board Riverside shuttle bus from Nairobi at 0800 hrs and proceed tomoshi arriving at 1300hrs. Depart for Moshi at 1400hrs arriving at 1530hrs. Dinner and overnight at a hotel Arushai or (Pick up from Kilimanajaro airport and transfer to hotel in moshi) DAY 1: MACHAME GATE{1800m}-MACHAME HUT {3000m} -After breakfast drine from Arusha to the Machame Gate with your lunch box in a 4WD vehicle, introduction to your guide and porters. Registration is done and thereafter start climb {Hiking /Trekking}with picnic lunch through rain forest for approximately 4 to 5 hrs where you arrive to the Machame Hut. Later afternoon walk up to a little higher altitude is done for acclimatization. Return to Machame Hut for dinner and overnight. FB DAY 2: MACHAME HUT{3000m}-SHIRA HUT {3800m} -After breakfast, start climb through short Savannah forest and other vegetation for approximately 4 to 5 hrs, with picnic lunch en route before arriving in the afternoon at the Shira Hut for dinner and overnight.FB DAY 3: SHIRA HUT (3800) This extra day is needed for acclimatization purposes FB DAY 4: {SHIRA HUT{3800m}-BARRANCO HUT(3950m} After breakfast a slow walk through semiglacier and sandy areas with picnic lunch 3 to 4 hrs before arriving at the Barranco Hut for dinner and overnight. FB DAY 5: BARRANCO HUT{3950m}-BARAFU HUT {4600m} -After breakfast, with picnic lunch enroute climb through glaciers for approximately 4 to 5 hours before arriving the Barafu Hut for dinner and overnight. FB DAY 6:BARAFU HUT{4600m}-STELLA POINT {5750m}-UHURU PEAK {5895m} An early wake up call around 01.00hrs for preparation and light breakfast before starting final ascent to the summit i.e. either the Stella Point reached in approximately 5 to 6 hrs and a further ascent to the Uhuru Peak reached in another approx 45minutes. After signing and short rest at barafu hut descend via the Gilmans Point down to Mweka hut for an hours rest with light breakfast then descent down for dinner and overnight at Mweka hut. FB DAY 7: MWEKA HUT(3100)-MWEKA GATE-ARUSHA After breakfast, final descent to Mweka gate, thereafter say Goodbye to your Guide/Porters and connect a private transfers to Arusha for overnight at Olmotonyi Forest Plantation Rest House. FB Day 8: ARUSHA to ZANZIBAR -By Flight(Precission Air) departs Arusha at 1100hrs and arrive in Zanzibar at 1215hrs, meet & greet at the airport and transfer to your chosen hotel in town (Serena Inn) for overnight. HB Day 9: EXCURSION in ZANZIBAR -After breakfast, pickup from your hotel for any two tours mentioned (Spice, Historical stone town, Jozani forest, Prison island or Sunset cruise), Dolphin tour on request. HB Day 10: R & R (rest & relax) At leisure and overnight at your hotel in town.
